About the “Road to the Little Mo Nationals”
“Little Mo” North Regionals held at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the Bronx, New York! We are so proud that the “Little Mo” continues to be a “one of a kind” junior tournament for boys and girls (ages 8-12)!
The “Road to the Little Mo Nationals” is the only yearlong circuit of its kind for talented, high performance boys and girls (ages 8-12) who reside in the USA and USA Territories. It is designed to provide good competition at the sectional, regional, and national level while also encouraging players to develop new friendships, learn good sportsmanship, and most of all, have fun. The “Little Mo” is also unique in that it gives youngsters the opportunity to gauge their ability against players who share the same birth year (i.e., 8’s play 8’s, 9’s play 9’s, et cetera). Many well-known collegiate players and famous tennis professionals have participated in the “Little Mo” program over the years including Andy Roddick, Ryan Harrison, Taylor Townsend, Vasek Pospisil, Borna Coric, Madison Keys, Donald Young, Steve Johnson, Sonya Kenin, Denis Kudla, CiCi Bellis, Ana Konjuh, and Belinda Bencic. Roddick won the “Little Mo” event in 1992 at 10 years of age and said, “the ‘Little Mo’ was my first big win!”
The Road begins each spring with 18 different sectionals held across the country, which advance to four regionals held in the summer, and culminates with the prestigious “Little Mo” Nationals held in the fall. The top eight players (quarterfinalists) from each age division at each sectional advance to the four “Little Mo” Regionals. The top four players (semifinalists) from each age division at each regional advance to the “Little Mo” Nationals held at the Austin Tennis Academy in Austin, Texas from September 28 – October 1. This year, MCB is excited to announce that all yellow ball results from the Sectionals, Regionals, and Nationals will count towards Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR only accepts yellow ball results).

The “Little Mo” North Regionals is made up of players who qualified from the Eastern, Middle States, Midwest, New England, and Northern Sectionals. The top eight players from each yellow ball and green dot division at the Sectionals advanced to the North Regionals, but all qualified green dot players will be playing in the yellow ball division this weekend. If you won the yellow ball division at the “Little Mo” Sectionals, you were automatically seeded in the draw. The order of seeding was based on previous “Little Mo” results as the first consideration along with other tournament results.
